As a photographer, I practice my craft daily learning and teaching myself new skills to help me grow and improve as a portrait photographer. I also attend conferences several times to find out what's new industry, buy new gear and products, and check out new products for my clients. But being a photographer isn't just picking up a camera and snapping pretty pictures.
This year I've decided to enter in my first digital imaging contest. For photographers, entering in these contests is an opportunity to improve technique, bragging rights, and to get a sound critique of his/her's level of skill. This is a chance to have my images entered critiques and judged by trained photographers. Entering in these competitions has help me to explore my creativity and push me to better myself as a photographer.
That is why I am pleased to announce that one of my images, Lost and Found, was accepted in to the International Photographic Competition's General Collection! I am so proud of having in one of my very first competitions one of my images receiving this honor and I very much look forward to creating more award winning images through out my career. This honor has pushed me even further to hone in my skills a a photographer. Even more now I want nothing more but to continue creating and pushing and striving for better. For excellence. Just knowing that one of my images met a photographic standard of excellence is mind blowing and I can't wait to see what the future has to offer! A special thanks goes to Kennedy for inspiring this amazing image.
Lost and Found will be displayed along with the other honorees at the International Photographic Exhibition at Imaging USA in San Antonio, TX from January 8-10, 2017.
